My Way is a song popularized by Frank Sinatra, an American singer and film actor. Beginning his musical career in the swing era with Harry James and Tommy Dorsey, Sinatra found unprecedented success as a solo artist from the early to mid-1940s after being signed toColumbia Records in 1943. Being the idol of the "bobby soxers", he released his first album, The Voice of Frank Sinatra in 1946. His professional career had stalled by the 1950s, but it was reborn in 1953 after he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in From Here to Eternity. My Way is often quoted as the most covered song in history. Its lyrics were written by Paul Anka and set to music based on the French song "Comme dhabitude" composed in 1967 by Claude François and Jacques Revaux, with lyrics by Claude François and Gilles Thibault. "Comme dhabitude" had in turn originally been written in English, titled "For Me". Ankas English lyrics are unrelated to the original French song or the earlier English version. Then if you like this song, you can try to play it and here we provide you My Way sheet music which is really easy to learn. The Lyrics of My Way: And now, the end is near; And so I face the final curtain. My friend, Ill make it clear, Ill state my case, of which Im certain. Ive lived a life thats full. Ive traveled each and every highway; And more, much more I did, I did it my way. Regrets, Ive had a few; But then again, too few to mention. I did what I had to do And saw it through without exemption. I planned each charted course; Each careful step along the by way, and more, much more than this, I did it my way. Yes, there were times, Im sure you knew When I bit off more than I could chew. But through it all, when there was doubt, I ate it up and spit it out. I faced it all and I stood tall; And did it my way. Ive loved, Ive laughed and cried. Ive had my fill; my share of losing. And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing. To think I did all that; And may I say - not in a shy way, No, oh no not me, I did it my way. For what is a man, what has he got? If not himself, then he has naught. To say the things he truly feels; And not the words of one who kneels. The record shows I took the blows - And did it my way! Yes, it was my way.
